Volcano Erupts In Iceland

A volcanic eruption in southwestern Iceland forced evacuations for the second time in less than three months.

  • Residents of the town of Grindavik were evacuated overnight, ahead of Sunday morning's eruption.
  • The town had previously been evacuated in November ahead of an eruption on Dec. 18th.
  • Officials say the volcano is unlikely to release large amounts of ash that could interfere with global air travel.
