61% Of Americans Living Paycheck-To-Paycheck

Nearly two-thirds of Americans are living paycheck-to-paycheck.

  • That's according to a June survey by LendingClub, which found that a majority of Americans - 61% - have little to no money left over after covering their living expenses.
  • Inflation, obviously, is a major factor - housing and food costs account for up to 85% of the typical American's take-home pay.
  • Almost three-quarters, 72%, of Americans say they aren't financially secure.

Americans spend an average each month--

  • $690 on food
  • $96 on out-of-pocket health costs
  • $2,816 for rent
  • $2,700 for homeowners
