Firefighters Knock Down Blaze in Koreatown

LOS ANGELES (CNS) -  Firefighters contained a fire to the first floor of a two-story residence today in Koreatown. 

Fire crews were called at 1:52 a.m. to 150 N. Berendo St. where there was heavy smoke showing on the first floor, said Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Margaret Stewart.   

Firefighters were able to extinguish the flames in 19 minutes with 26 firefighters.   

Stewart said no injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
