‘Mattress Mack’ Bets $4.5M on Bengals to Win Super Bowl

In an attempt to go back-to-back, Mattress Mack placed his prediction for the next Super Bowl Champion to be the Cincinnati Bengals after he won his bet last year when the Buccaneers defeated the Kansas City Chiefs.

This time around, Mack’s going even bigger.

Jim “Mattress Mack” McIngvale – a Houston area furniture salesman known for placing large sports bets – has wagered bets combining for $4,534,000 on the Bengals moneyline over the Los Angeles Rams at +170 odds. In what would need to be an upset pulled off by youngster Joe Burrow and his dynamite squad, Mack would win $7,707,800.

This bet is the largest mobile sports wager of all time and the second-largest Super Bowl wager ever placed, with the largest being a $4.9 million bet made in 2002. McIngvale drove from Texas to Louisiana and placed the bet on his phone while pulling over at a gas station, according to ESPN. The wager was placed using Caesar’s Sportsbook.

“At Caesar’s Sportsbook we love taking epic wagers on massive events like the Super Bowl,” said Caesars Sportsbook Head of Sports Ken Fuchs. “The Joe Burrow magic is pulling fans in, especially in Louisiana with his college roots [at LSU]. With this $4.5 million bet on Joe and the Bengals, Mack will make history again. And with the millions of Caesars Rewards credits he’ll earn – win or lose – he can enjoy time spent on OUR mattresses at Caesars anytime he wants to stop by.”

Mack took home $2.72 million on a $3.46 million wager last year when the Bucs beat the Chiefs. His reputation has been built around his eye-catching wagers being tied into promotions for his furniture company in addition to his continued support in assisting Hurricane Ida victims. Customers were encouraged to donate water and non-perishable food to local Kroger’s and Gallery Furniture stores.
