Teen Sues Coaches For Forcing Him To Eat Pizza Against His Religion

A high school football player in Canton, Ohio -- who says coaches forced him to eat pizza covered with pepperoni grease against his religious beliefs -- is now suing that former school district and coaches.

According to the lawsuit, the coaches’ “antisemitic and shameful” actions caused the teen “substantial permanent injury."

The lawsuit also states the coaches knew the athlete doesn't eat pork or pork residue as a member of the Hebrew Israelite religious faith, but that they ordered him to eat the pizza as a punishment for missing a workout anyway... Even indicating that his spot on the team was at risk if he didn't eat it.

An attorney representing the coaches said the allegations are false.

The school board voted not to renew the contracts of four coaches after the alleged incident.
