Mayor Eric Garcetti's time as Mayor of Los Angeles will be up very soon... and with that seat becoming open in a number of months, candidates are already announcing they are running to take his seat.

Currently - L.A. City Councilmen Joe Buscaino and Kevin de Leon, Rep. Karen Bass, City Atty. Mike Feuer, Businesswoman Jessica Lall and real estate agent, Mel Wilson have all announced that they are running to become the next mayor of Los Angeles.

Last night, entrepreneur Ramit Varma announced he will be running to hopefully become the next mayor of Los Angeles. Varma, who co-founded online tutoring company, "Revolution Prep" rented out the Banc of California Stadium to announce he will be running in the mayoral election next year.

While addressing his 400 attendees, Varma vowed to end homelessness, cut government waste, and "Reboot LA".

“We are losing the very things that made Los Angeles Los Angeles,”

He added,

“You can choose more of the same,” ... “Or you can choose to reboot L.A.”

He discusses the "political machine" at City Hall and also questioned the lack of housing that has been built under Proposition HHH.

Developer Rick Caruso is also said to be heavily considering running for mayor of Los Angeles. He is currently working with Bearstar Strategies - a company that has led campaigns for former Governor Jerry Brown, Vice President Harris, and Hillary Clinton.

Ramit Varma will be joining John & Ken this afternoon at 5 pm! Tune - In!
