Single-Vehicle Crash in Gardena Leaves One Dead, Two Injured

GARDENA (CNS) - A single-vehicle crash in Gardena early today left one man dead and two others injured, police said.

The crash was reported about 12:10 a.m. at Redondo Beach Boulevard and Normandie Avenue, said Gardena police Lt. Eric Hyde.

“The vehicle was traveling southbound (on) Normandie Avenue when it collided with (a) light pole at the intersection,'' Hyde said in a statement.

Paramedics pronounced a passenger dead at the scene, and took the driver and another passenger to a hospital in unknown condition, Hyde said. The fatally injured man's name was withheld, pending notification of his relatives.
