Southwest Airlines had to cancel over one thousand flights over the weekend.
- The airline company cited issues regarding weather and traffic control as reasons for the cancellations.
- "We experienced significant impact in the Florida airports yesterday (Friday) evening after an FAA-imposed air traffic management program was implemented due to weather and resulted in a large number of cancellations," a statement from Southwest read.
- American Airlines and Spirit also experienced flight cancellations, though not nearly as many as Southwest.
