Al Capone's Prized Gun and Other Possessions are Going Up for Auction

Al Capone also known as 'Scarface', one of the most notorious and ruthless gangsters in the Prohibition Era. Capone reigned as the crime boss in Chicago for 7 years, until he went to prison at the age of 33. He died at 48 from Paresis caused by late-stage Syphilis.

Nearly 200 items went on the auction block this evening in Sacramento. Brian Witherell, consignment director at Witherell's Auction House said he has 1,000 bidders that have registered from every state in the U.S. and 11 countries. Capone's favorite gun, semi-automatic Colt .45 is expected to go for hundreds of thousands of dollars.
