San Bernardino fire officials said today a fire in the Fontana area has consumed 300 acres and is currently zero percent contained.
Mandatory evacuations were issued Wednesday afternoon for residents after a vegetation fire near Lytle Creek and Duncan roads broke out just after 1:30 p.m. The fire, which is not far from the 15 Freeway, is threatening up to 100 homes in the area. Evacuation orders have been issued for Lytle Creek Road, south of the Ranger Station, west of Sierra Avenue, north of the 15 Freeway and east of Duncan Canyon. An evacuation warning was issued for homes north of Glen Helen, near the Cajon pass.
The North and South ramps at Sierra on the 15 Freeway are closed. There have also been delays reported at Ontario airport due to the fire.
Residents located in all areas north of Lytle Creek Ranger Station on Lytle Creek Road have been asked to shelter in place.

Evacuation Center established for large animals at the Devore Animal Shelter: 19777 Shelter Way in San Bernardino
