White House Authorizes $500M More For Afghan Refugees

The White House has authorized another $500 million to help relocate Afghan refugees.

President Biden approved the money late Monday, to assist "refugees, victims of conflict, and other persons at risk as a result of the situation in Afghanistan."

“Such assistance may be provided on a bilateral or multilateral basis as appropriate, including through contributions to international organizations and through funding to other nongovernmental organizations, governments, and United States departments and agencies,” Biden wrote in a memo on Monday.

The U.S. had previously announced plans to help 80,000 Afghan civilians who are at risk of retaliation from the Taliban.

What do you think should be done with these refugees? Should they be brought to the U.S. or settled somewhere else? Tweet us your thoughts @JohnandKenShow!
