South L.A. Shooting Kills Man, Injures Girl

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - A man was killed and a girl wounded in a shooting in South Los Angeles, and the shooter was at large this morning.

The shooting occurred about 8:15 p.m. Tuesday in the area of East 102nd and San Pedro streets, according to Los Angeles Police Department Officer Mike Lopez.

The man, described as in his 20's, was shot multiple times, and a girl between eight to 10 years old received a gunshot wound to her arm, police said.

The girl was hospitalized with stable vital signs.

The suspected shooter fled the scene before police arrived.

It was not immediately clear what led to the shooting, and no further details were released.
