Inflation Surges In April

Consumer inflation continued to surge in April, according to new data from the Labor Department.

  • The U.S. Consumer Price Index ticked up 0.8% in April from the previous month, and 4.2 percent from one year ago - the sharpest increase since 2008.
  • Some economists say the price inflation could last through the rest of the year.
  • Why do you think prices are going up? Is it a cause for concern for the economy?
