Police car on the street

LANCASTER (CNS) - A 19-year-old man died after he was rushed to an area trauma center from a solo vehicle crash in Lancaster and an 18-year- old woman was hospitalized with major injuries.

The crash occurred at 9:50 a.m. in the area of 30th Street West and West Avenue M-4, California Highway Patrol Officer C. DeHaven said.

Both the Palmdale residents were ejected from a 2004 Infiniti after it overturned on the dirt shoulder of the road, DeHaven said. It was not clear which of the two was driving and lost control of the car, causing it to veer to the right.

Alcohol and/or drug use was not suspected but the crash investigation continued, the officer said.
