Two Killed in Apparent Electrocution in Panorama City

A Panorama City man and his daughter were killed today in an apparent electrocution.

Firefighters went to the family's home in the 14700 block of Tupper Street about 2:45 a.m., according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The victims, who died at the scene, were identified by the coroner's office as Ferdinand Tejada, 53, and Janine Reyn Tejada, 20, both of Panorama City.

According to KTLA5, the man went outside when he hear a “loud pop'' and was electrocuted, and his daughter went to his aid and also was electrocuted. The man's wife called 911 and was told to stay inside until emergency crews arrived, Channel 5 reported.

Power was shut off in the immediate area by utility crews. The Los Angeles Police Department was investigating.
