Gang Member, 40, Arrested in Pomona on Drug and Gun Violations

POMONA (CNS) - A documented 40-year-old gang member was jailed this morning on suspected drug and gun violations following a traffic stop in Pomona.

Officers with the Pomona Police Department's Major Crimes Task Force spotted a vehicle without a license plate in the area of Hamilton Boulevard and Muir Avenue about 12:25 a.m. and stopped the vehicle, according to Sgt. M. Medellin.

During the stop, officers spotted drug paraphernalia in plain view inside the vehicle and a follow-up search yielded methamphetamine and a loaded firearm, Medellin said.

Police arrested the driver, Joseph Armienta of Pomona, and booked him into the Pomona city jail, Medellin said.
