LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose two-tenths of a cent today to $3.169, its highest amount since March 27, one day after remaining unchanged.
The average price is 3.4 cents more than a week ago and 9.6 cents higher than one month ago but 53.4 cents less than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It has decreased 44.6 cents since the start of the year.
A streak of increases to the Orange County average price was extended to eight days, but barely, with an increase of one-tenth of a cent to $3.161, its highest amount since March 26. It has increased 4.7 cents over the past eight days, including four-tenths of a cent on Tuesday.
The Orange County average price is 4.4 cents more than a week ago and 10.2 cents higher than one month ago but 51.3 cents less than one year ago. It has decreased 38.4 cents since the start of the year.
