U.S. Gas Prices Soar To Record National Average

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped today for the 47th consecutive day, declining two-tenths of a cent to $3.647, its lowest amount since Aug. 31.

The average price has dropped 48.2 cents during the streak, including a half-cent on Saturday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It is 3.2 cents less than one week ago and 28.4 cents lower than one month ago, but 20.9 cents more than one year ago.

The Orange County average price dropped for the 48th consecutive day, decreasing six-tenths of a cent to $3.56, its lowest amount since Aug. 29. It has dropped 52.8 cents during the streak, including six-tenths of a cent Saturday.

The Orange County average price is 3.5 cents less than one week ago and 31.1 cents lower than one month ago, but 16.6 cents more than one year ago.
