Koehler Urges Higher Gas Prices

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped today for the 38th consecutive day, decreasing 1.2 cents to $3.694, its lowest amount since Sept. 17.

The average price has dropped 43.5 cents during the streak, including 1 cent Thursday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It is 7.5 cents less than one week ago and 36.9 cents lower than one month ago, but 25.7 cents more than one year ago.

The streak of decreases is the longest since a 46-day run from May 8- June 22.

The Orange County average price dropped for the 39th consecutive day, decreasing 1.2 cents to $3.613, its lowest amount since Aug. 31. It has dropped 47.5 cents during the streak, including a half-cent Thursday.

The Orange County average price is 7.8 cents less than one week ago and 39.8 cents lower than one month ago, but 23.5 cents more than one year ago.
