For the first time in four years, gas prices in California have reached a new high.

We told you guys to Vote Yes on Prop 6, we warned you.

Things have gotten so out of hand that now the state is investigating into why prices are raising.

Our good "friend" Gavin Newsom is the one who is asking the state's attorney general to look into if there's something shady going on.

Newsom, the state's governor, is so out of wack. Even he's not sure if retailers are "misleading and overcharging customers."

In his letter to the attorney general, Newsom cited a study from the California Energy Commission. This study found the gas retailers such as Chevron, Shell, Exxon or Mobil charge more for gas-marts despite no evidence that gasoline sold by less expensive, unbranded outlets is in any way inferior.

“Consumers may be purchasing higher-priced gasoline brands for convenience, credit card acceptance, or other reasons. However, if competitors decide collectively to fix prices, this may be unlawful,” the commision wrote in a memo after their study.

Newsom has even alluded to the fact that gas companies may be adding a mysterious "surge price".

"If oil companies are engaging in false advertising or price fixing, then legal action should be taken to protect the public," Newsom wrote.

GET THIS FIGURED OUT. We are tired of spending four dollars for gas!!!
