Dodgers Shut Out Nationals to Open Division Series

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - Walker Buehler and three relievers combined on a two-hitter and the Los Angeles Dodgers scored twice in both the seventh and eighth innings in a 6-0 victory over the Washington Nationals today at Dodger Stadium in Game 1 of a National League Division Series.

Buehler struck out eight, walked three and allowed a second-inning inning single to Juan Soto in six innings. Trea Turner had Washington's other hit, a double leading off the ninth off Joe Kelly, the fourth Dodger pitcher.

Max Muncy had a two-run single in the seventh and forced in the first run when he walked with the bases loaded in the first.

Pinch-hitter Gavin Lux and Joc Pederson hit solo home runs in the eighth.

Cody Bellinger scored the Dodgers second run on an error by Nationals first baseman Howie Kendrick on a ground ball hit by Muncy in the fifth.

Washington starter Patrick Corbin was charged with the loss, allowing two runs, one earned, and three hits in six innings, walking five and striking out nine.

Game 2 of the best-of-five series will be played Friday at Dodger Stadium.
