A story online has made the viral rounds and divided the internet:
An obese man on a 5-hour flight was charged an extra $150 by the man sitting next to him for taking up a portion of his seat.
When a second seat was not available to purchase to provide more room, the two decided that the obese man would pay for half of the other passenger's seat.
The incident was posted on Reddit by the man (which you can read in full HERE) and details what he says happened from his perspective.
Some people on the post thought the obese man was being targeted:
"Well, the $150 didn't make you any less squished in your seat, so it really feels like you just blackmailed this guy for being fat."
And other posters supported the compromise made by the two men:
"You had every right to ask the flight attendant for a solution, and between the man and you, a solution was agreed upon."
