#TerrorInTheSkies: Shannon's 6-Hour Flight Home From Sacramento

It was supposed to be a simple weekend trip...

It started just as planned.

Burbank up to Sacramento on Friday for a little time with the family.

Followed up by a quick turnaround and a flight home on Saturday morning.

So far so good. Nothing of note to report.

Even the flight was fine. No problems. Nice and steady.

Then there was the descent...

It didn't start out dramatic, but it sure became dramatic in a hurry.

Just as the plane was about to land in Burbank, it pulled up hard and began shaking all over.

We're talking up and down, side to side shaking.

People were screaming. People were crying. People were throwing up.

And then the pilot told everyone what nobody wanted to hear.

They were headed back to Sacramento...

The visibility was too poor to land, so they had no choice but to turn around and make their way back north.

And to make matters so much worse, they wouldn't let anyone use the bathrooms on the flight home.

As we've learned from past #TerrorInTheSkies stories, this did not go over very well.

People were screaming. People were crying. People were throwing up.

Luckily, they were able to get them back on another flight soon, but not before Shannon had lived through far too much.
