Average L.A. County Gas Price Drops To Lowest Amount Since March 9

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped today for the 51st consecutive day, decreasing 1.2 cents to $3.437, its lowest amount since March 9.

The average price has dropped 44 cents over the past 51 days, including 1.1 cents on Wednesday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price is 7.4 cents less than one week ago and 28.3 cents lower than one month ago, but 29.7 cents more than one year ago. It has risen 28.7 cents since the start of the year.

The streak of decreases is the longest since a 92-day run from Oct. 2, 2014-Jan. 1, 2015.

The Orange County average price dropped today for the 22nd consecutive day and 49th time in the past 50 days, decreasing 1 cent to $3.378, its lowest amount since Jan. 29. It has dropped 44.5 cents over the past 50 days, including 1.4 cents on Wednesday.

The Orange County average price is 8 cents less than one week ago and 29 cents lower than one month ago, but 29 cents more than one year ago. It has risen 26.2 cents since the start of the year.

The Orange County average price dropped for 27 consecutive days, rose one-tenth of a cent Nov. 21, then resumed declining the following day.
