ANAHEIM (CNS) - Authorities today identified a man they believe called 911 to report he may have killed his girlfriend.
The suspect, Mark Lawrence Jennings, 46, of Anaheim, was arrested around 7:30 a.m. Wednesday morning after officers found him sitting in the driveway of a home in the 800 block of South Cardiff Street, according to Sgt. Daron Wyatt with the Anaheim Police Department.
Jennings told officers his girlfriend was probably dead inside the home and he had opened a gas line inside, said Wyatt. Officers and Anaheim Fire Department firefighters entered the home and found Beverly Millard, 40, deceased inside, Wyatt said. There was no evidence a gas line was turned on. The cause of death is under investigation, but detectives have declared Millard's death a homicide.
Jennings is being held at the Orange County Jail on $1,000,000 bail.
