Clicking Buy Online Could Cost You More

Trying to save money by shopping online? It might cost you more soon.

Two decades ago the Supreme Court ruled that companies who ship to states without a physical presence in that state, do not need to collect sales tax.

Now more than 40 states are claiming that they lose billions, forcing them to cut certain programs.

Third-party sellers like jewelry website Blue Nile, pet product sire Chewy.com, clothing retailer L.L. Bean, electronics seller Newegg, internet retailer Overstock.com and sellers on eBay and Etsy can be affected by the change.
