A 55-year-old man living out of a motor home in the Gardena area is in custody after the body of a naked woman was found lying face down in a gutter near the vehicle.
A woman walking on Main Street just south of Rosecrans Avenue found the body around 9:17 PM last night.
Lt. John Corina said the victim was pronounced dead at the scene, and was bloodied and naked in the gutter. Corina told KTLA that the suspect knew the victim:
“He ends up saying yes he knows that person. He put her there."
The suspect said the victim was between 40 and 50 years old and was a prostitute he picked up. He also told police that he killed her before dumping her body near the curb.
Lt. Corina added that the victim likely died from blunt force trauma, as there are no stab or gunshot wounds on her body.
