L.A.P.D. Cracking Down on Illegal Pot Shops

Weed in California may be legal to smoke, but there's still plenty of hoops to jump through to sell it. That's why the L.A.P.D. has cracked down on a series of illegal pot shops.

Deputy Chief John Sherman says eight warrants have been executed for illegal operations, including one shop in Pacoima.

"It is a problem location that has many community complaints that come in from various aspect of the community, both the business community in the area, as well as the residential community."

Four people were arrested in the raid and three guns were found in the shop. Authorities say at least eighteen other locations have been identified as problems.

At least 99 shops have been  given temporary licenses to sell recreational weed in Southern California.
