California Has 17th Highest STD Rate in US, Alaska #1

The results are in, and California residents can let out a relatively safe sigh of relief.

The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) released its list of the Most Sexually Diseased States in the Nation for 2016, with Alaska taking the cake.  

You read that right:  Alaska has taken the STD cake.

The northernmost US state came in at #1 in having residents infected with sexually transmitted diseases.  

The news came to the surprise of many, with Alaska out-infecting such "party" states as California (17th) Florida (24th) and Hawaii (28th).

  2. Mississippi
  3. Louisiana
  4. Georgia
  5. New Mexico

Top 5 Least Sexually Diseased States:

  1. Vermont
  2. New Hampshire
  3. West Virginia
  4. Maine
  5. Utah
