Singer Selena to Receive Hollywood Walk of Fame Star

Selena Quintanilla will be posthumously honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on November 3rd.

Selena's sister Suzette Quintanilla Arriaga will join Hollywood Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Leron Gubler to unveil her star in front of the Capitol Records building.

Eva Longoria will be in attendance with Mayor Eric Garcetti to declare November 3rd as "Selena Day" in Los Angeles.

President of Meruelo Media and the official sponsor of the tribute, Otto Padron says Selena's career made a major impact on other stars.

"Before there was JLo, Shakira or Beyonce, there was a transformative female artist called Selena. Selena is one of the most influential music icons of the 20th century; her music, style and smile are timeless and now her star will grace our city forever."

The Grammy Award-winning Mexican-American singer was only 23 when she was fatally shot by the president of her fan club in 1995.
