Recall targets Southern California senator over gas tax vote

Three Southern California talk radio hosts have been cleared to begin collecting signatures in their effort to recall a Democratic state lawmaker because of his vote to raise gas and vehicle taxes. Last month, the Assembly and state Senate voted to raise gas taxes to help pay for road repairs.

KFI's John and Ken, alongside Carl DeMaio from AM 600 KOGO in San Diego, will be promoting their effort to recall Senator Josh Newman of Fullerton on Thursday with a live broadcast from an AM/PM in Fullerton. You can find out more information about John and Ken's broadcast on Thursday on their blog page located here

John and Ken, and Carl DeMaio say they're targeting Newman because he's a vulnerable Democrat who narrowly won his seat during the last election.

Newman says that a recall effort against him would only cost taxpayers millions of dollars and disrespects the will of the voters.

Recall organizers will have until Oct. 16th to collect 63,593 signatures before their recall can move forward.
