Reward in Disappearance of 5-year-old Boy

A $10,000 reward was approved by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors Tuesday for information on the disappearance of a 5-year-old boy, who vanished last month during a scheduled visit with his father.

Aramazd Andressian, Jr. was last seen with his father at Disneyland April 20 and 21, and was supposed to be returned to his mother April 22.

The boy's father, Aramazd Andressian, Sr., was arrested on suspicion of child abduction and child endangerment the following Saturday, but was released without charges a few days later.

The L.A. County Sheriff's Department said at the time - it was no longer focused on pursuing a criminal case against the father, and was instead putting all its resources into locating the boy.

Last Friday detectives searched the father's home in South Pasadena for a second time, but, "nothing of significance was found," according to the Sheriff's Department.

Detectives said the father claims he does not know or remember what happened to his son.

"We remain optimistic that he may be with somebody out there, family or a stranger," said Sheriff's Homicide Bureau Lt. Joe Mendoza.

"So we hope that this reward will encourage them to come forward," he said.
