Missing Woman's Disappearance a Mystery

Detectives said Thursday they’d closed the investigation into the brief disappearance of a woman from Colorado - who was found wandering in the Antelope Valley.

Laura Lynn Stacy, 28, was taken to a hospital to be treated for exposure Wednesday after she was spotted by detectives walking near the 14 Freeway.

No more information about the case will be released, an LAPD spokeswoman said, and a public relations representative hired by the woman’s family asked for privacy.

“The family is very grateful to have located their daughter,” said PR rep Lisa Garcia.

“Our daughter’s physical condition is currently being evaluated by medical professionals, and we await the results.”

Stacy vanished from her apartment on Barham Blvd. Sunday, and the LAPD asked for the public’s help in finding her and her car, a 2005 Acura TL with Colorado license plates.

The woman’s cell phone was found Monday in a park in Santa Clarita.

The car was found Tuesday night in Lancaster and L.A. County Sheriff’s deputies began to search the area for Stacy.

She was found Wednesday afternoon by LAPD detectives who were driving to the Antelope Valley to assist with the search.
