16-Year-Old Boy Arrested on Suspicion of Shooting Another 16-Year-Old Boy

LONG BEACH (CNS) - A 16-year-old boy from Los Angeles was arrested on suspicion of shooting another 16-year-old boy in Long Beach last month, Long Beach police announced Friday.

The shooting was reported around 6:25 p.m. on March 16 in the area of East 1st Street and The Promenade. Responding LBPD officers found a 16-year-old boy suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to his lower body.

Officers rendered aid until the Long Beach Fire Department arrived and took the victim to a hospital.

Detectives later identified the suspect and obtained an arrest warrant, which was served on Tuesday in Los Angeles.

Additional evidence believed to be related to the shooting was allegedly obtained at the time of the arrest, police said.

The firearm allegedly used was recovered by the Los Angeles Police Department before the suspect was arrested.

The identity of the 16-year-old suspect was not released.
