Kobe and Gigi Bryant Honored with Statue at Hilltop Crash Site

Artist Dan Medina honored them by placing a statue depicting the NBA superstar and his daughter which will remain at the hilltop site temporarily.

Kobe Bryant, his 13-year-old daughter, and seven other passengers were flying from Orange County to a youth basketball tournament in Ventura County when the helicopter encountered thick fog and slammed into a hillside.

The names of all nine crash victims are inscribed on the statue's base and Medina hopes to have a larger, permanent statue placed in Downtown LA.
