Cobb County Says Moving All-Star Game Will Cost $100 Million In Tourism

MLB's decision to move the All-Star Game out of Atlanta will cost the local tourism industry more than $100 million, officials say.

  • The Cobb County Travel and Tourism Bureau estimates the lost revenue at $100 mil, and says it "would have been a big boost to Cobb businesses and help with recovery after the COVID-19 pandemic".
  • Last week, MLB announced it would not hold the 2021 All-Star Game in Atlanta in response to Georgia's controversial new voting laws. A new home for the game has not yet been announced.
  • Did MLB's announcement surprise you? Did you agree with it? Where should the game be held?
