Aquarium of the Pacific Offers Online Academy With On-Demand Programming

While students, parents and teachers are all stuck at home amid the coronavirus pandemic, Aquarium of the Pacific has launched an Online Academy that promises to bring the magic, wonder and education of the aquarium to your home during the current closures.

The Aquarium Online Academy offers a wide variety of courses for all ages from Pre-K to 12th grade that include on-demand videos and activities for all ages. Interactive live programs have also been scheduled with Aquarium educators who will provide virtual classroom sessions.

People can also access webcams that are set up at some of the most popular exhibits at the Aquarium. Watch what's happening at the Penguin Habitat (above and below water), virtually swim with the sharks at the Shark Lagoon, or unwind with some flashy fish at the Tropical Reef.

There are also several courses and lectures available for adults to stream online as well. The Aquarium is currently offering a mini-course on climate change set up as a video playlist that can be found on YouTube. There's also information about how adults can learn more about sustainable seafood through content from Seafood for the Future.

While you may not be able to visit the aquarium in person anytime soon, a virtual visit might be the best way to shake off that cabin fever - and you may even learn a thing or two about marine life.
