LOS ANGELES (CNS) - About 12,000 LADWP customers in West Los Angeles were without power tonight.
The outages were reported at 6:17 p.m. in the Sawtelle and Westwood neighborhoods, Palla Adler of the Los Angeles Department of Water & Power said.
Three power vaults were affected and there were indications a Mylar balloon was the cause of the outage, Adler said.
Crews were working to isolate the problem and try to restore power quickly to some, if not all customers, she said.
The process could take 5 1/2 hours, Adler said.
