LA County Sheriff Alex Villanueva has a message for whoever shot an off-duty deputy at an Alhambra Jack in the Box:
"Whomever carried out this cowardly attack; we won't rest until we find you & ensure justice is brought swiftly upon you."
The deputy was standing at the counter when a gunman walked up behind him and shot him once in the head.
He was then transported to a local hospital and is listed in critical condition.
