It's finally happened.

Elon Musk has finally unveiled his two-mile underground tunnel in Los Angeles.

There's a catch though.

He only released it to a VIP list only allowing special guests and reporters.

Our friend and reporter Robert Kovacik from NBC 4 Los Angeles was one of the lucky reporters that was able to test out the demo tunnel.

The demo rides that are happening are noticeably slower though. The test runs are currently going 40 mph instead of the future 150 mph speed.

"It's much more like an underground highway than it is a subway," Elon Musk said. "It's not like you're going through a whole series of stops. Nope, the main arteries will be going super fast, and it's only when you want to get off the loop system that you slow down."

Rumors has it, it may take a few years before it's made available to the public.

Here's to hoping we can test it out soon!
