Southland Gas Prices Drop Again

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped today for the 16th consecutive day, decreasing six-tenths of a cent to $3.705.

The average price has dropped 5.6 cents over the past 16 days, including eight-tenths of a cent on Tuesday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. The streak of decreases is the longest since a 27-day streak from Nov. 25-Dec. 21.

The average price is 3.8 cents less than one week ago and 4.4 cents lower than one month ago but 72.1 cents higher than one year ago. It has risen 55.5 cents since the start of the year.

The Orange County average price dropped today for 11th consecutive day and 17th time in 18 days, decreasing nine-tenths of a cent to $3.666. It has dropped 6 cents over the past 18 days, including a half-cent on Tuesday.

The Orange County average price is 3.3 cents less than one week ago and 4.9 cents lower than one month ago but 70.9 cents higher than one year ago. It has risen 55 cents since the start of the year.

The Orange County average price dropped six consecutive days, was unchanged June 9, then resumed dropping on June 10.
