Homicide detectives said Monday a fugitive businessman from Whittier is suspected of orchestrating three execution-style murders, including the 2009 killing of a prominent lawyer in Rolling Hills Estates.

Richard Wall has fled the United States and is believed to be hiding-out in Montenegro, where there is no extradition.

“We’re comfortable listing him as a suspect at this point,” said L.A. County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau Lt. Victor Lewandowski.

The murdered attorney, Jeffrey Tidus, had won a multi-million-dollar award against Wall in the months before Tidus was shot to death outside his home.

Lewandowski said Wall was behind the murders of a father in Whittier and an entrepreneur in Las Vegas. In each case the dead men were owed money.

“There were civil actions involved, that’s what ties it in, money seems to be the central point in all of this, that’s the common denominator,” Lewandowski said.
