(Los Angeles, CA) -- The lawyer for former rap mogul Marion "Suge" Knight is being accused of trying to bribe witnesses in his client's murder trial. Court documents released today show prosecutors believe Knight's lawyer Matthew Fletcher was involved in an effort by Knight to try and bribe potential witnesses in the case. Knight is behind bars for allegedly running down two men, killing one of them outside the movie set of the N.W.A. biopic "Straight Outta Compton" in 2015.
The prosecutors cite monitored telephone conversations between the jailed Knight and Fletcher in their accusations. Fletcher is denying any wrongdoing.
Knight was in court today for a pretrial hearing in a separate case where he's accused of threatening the director of "Straight Outta Compton." That hearing ended up being postponed until next month.
